Saudi Arabis says Gaza’s war will affect local, global stability
Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, said to the 80th UN General Assembly in New York, “the international community’s inaction in restraining the (Israeli) aggression on Gaza will contribute to destabilizing security and stability regionally and globally.”
He called on the UN to take a more active role in resolving the conflict, stating that the international organization, “needs to become more efficient in reducing conflicts and crises.”
He urged for immediate international measures to protect civilians and open humanitarian passageways, emphasizing that "we must all act seriously to stop the aggression and guarantee the delivery of aid to Gaza’s residents."
Israel's full closure of Gaza's crossings since March 2 has blocked aid deliveries and intensified famine within the district. The small amount of aid that is from time to time permitted in is often stolen by armed groups. Gaza authorities allege Israel of failing to stop these armed groups or are actively protecting them.
